ASTON MARTIN ZAGATO SHOOTING BRAKE | MONTREAL, QC

Founded in 1919 in Milan, Italy, Zagato is an independent coachbuilding company and design center. Since its creation, Zagato has worked on approximately 100 models of cars and motorcycles. Each vehicle that Zagato works on from the Alfa Romeo SZ, the Autech Stelvio or the Porsche Carrera GTZ, are not only beautiful but extremely limited as well.

From Bentley to Ferrari, Nissan, and even Alfa Romeo, Zagato has worked with a wide array of manufacturers and they have recently made headlines with their recent collaboration with Aston Martin. The two companies have worked together in the past in 1960 with the DB4 GTZ and their latest range of models are from the Vanquish family and consist of a Coupé, Speedster, Volante, and the most striking of them all, the Shooting Brake.

Living in Quebec, I never thought I would see a Zagato on our streets. Fortunately, I was wrong as one was delivered to Montreal. Not only was I one of the first people fortunate to see it in person when it was delivered to its owner at Aston Martin Montreal, but I was also the first person to have a photoshoot with it.

The Zagato Shooting Brake is limited to 99 units worldwide, and two of them made their way to Canada; the first one was delivered to Calgary. Being longer than a regular Vanquish, the Zagato Shooting Brake uses the rear subframe out of the Aston Martin Rapide. It uses the same 592 horsepower naturally aspirated 5.9 litre V12 from the Vanquish, its body elements are made out of carbon fibre, and its price? Approximately $1.5 Million CAD.

This particular example is number 87/99 and is painted in Lightning Silver which the owner had told me is the only painted in this colour. As there is a long list of features and options on this example, it is classified as a ‘Q’ car which is the ultimate bespoke personalization service offered by Aston Martin. As if that wasn’t enough, the car is also equipped with the Villa d’Este package, which adds additional exterior and interior enhancements to the vehicle.

For those hoping to see it in person, the owner plans to drive it a lot so if you’re around downtown Montreal on a sunny weekend, there is a very good chance you will see it roaming around!
